FICTION’S second annual New Writers Competition
is now closed, winners will be announced in August 2008.
Short
FICTION’S third annual New Writers Competition
will accept submissions 1 January – 30 March 2009.
Prize is £250 or $500 plus publication in Issue
3 of Short FICTION (due out September 2009). Writers
without fiction book publication (of novel or short
stories) are eligible. Entries must be of previously
unpublished work (in magazine or online). Submitted
stories must be under 5000 words. There is no theme
restriction.
 £10/submission
= competition entry fee PLUS a copy of journal issue
with winning story in it (normal journal cost + postage
is £9.50... making submission entry only 50p,
a good deal!).
£5/submission
= competition entry fee only. It does not get entrants
a copy of the issue with winning submission in it. Useful
when submitting more than one entry.
Short
FICTION cannot correspond with entrants about submissions
(no revisions accepted). All competition submissions
will be considered for journal publication. Please be
